Stop over on way back to florida

We decided to stop in Savannah for a couple of nights on our way back home to Florida . Being a choice member we decided to stay at comfort suites in Gateway. The staff there was very friendly and helpful . We found the room to be exceptionally clean and very comfortable . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit on our next trip that way .

Amazing Stay

Our entire stay was amazing from the check in to check out. Stayed on the first floor and it always remained nice and quiet. Breakfast was sausage-eggs-biscuit n gravy-waffle-breads-fresh fruit and yogurt. weekday evenings free wine and beer as well as popcorn, chips n salsa and cookies. Nice walk to a couple chain eating establishments. Traffic between hotel and historic downtown a little crazy just avoid rush hour. Pool extremely chlorinated but they say it is state standards. A good place to stay awesome hotel personnel.

Best complimentary breakfast ever!

Lizzie had a packed crowd eating breakfast over the 4th of July weekend but did a great job managing the breakfast room with efficiency and a smile. Janice was at the front desk all three days we were there and she helped me rectify a problem with my Choice hotel membership rewards. This hotel had two large family reunion groups staying there but the room was sound proof and we got three good nights of sleep.

Things to Do

Fort McAllister State Park

Home of the best preserved earthwork fortification of the Confederacy, this coastal park offers a museum containing Civil War artifacts as well as camping and picnicking facilities.

Richmond Hill Historical Society Museum

Richmond Hill is a Henry Ford town. He built a very large home here, employed lots of people and worked with the schools. The museum is very interesting.

Keller's Flea Market

The flea market opened with 60 stall spaces - 30 open spaces and 30 enclosed spaces. Money was tight so Keller built the first buildings from "culled" boards and tin. Plain old Georgia dirt was used as flooring. Becky Goss was our first manager watching over the day to day operations of the business.
